We have just returned from the 4D/3N Inca Trail trek with Alpaca Expeditions, and we had the most amazing time! Our guides, Romario, Ever, and Reynaldo, were absolutely fantastic. They managed the timing and pace of the group exceptionally well, ensuring that we never became too exhausted and arrived at camp with plenty of time to unwind and relax each afternoon and evening. This made a huge difference to the overall experience, as everyone remained in good spirits and had enough energy to truly enjoy the hike and take in the magnificent scenery along the way. Romario's knowledge and passion for the history, archaeology, and ecology of the region were exceptional. His explanations brought the trail to life and made the entire experience so much more interesting and fascinating, on top of the incredible natural beauty surrounding us. Arriving at Machu Picchu was a surreal experience in itself. Watching it emerge from the clouds in the morning was absolutely magical, and having Romario guide us around the archaeological site afterwards, explaining its history and significance, was the perfect way to end the trek. The porters at Alpaca Expeditions are truly exceptional people and deserve enormous recognition for making this experience possible. Day after day, they carry incredibly heavy loads, transport and set up the campsite, and ensure everything is ready for the group. Their hard work and dedication are remarkable, and we came away with an even greater appreciation for everything that goes on behind the scenes to make the trek so enjoyable for hikers. Our chef, Sebastian, and his assistant chefs were outstanding. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was delicious, nutritious, and plentiful. We honestly could not believe how good the food was, especially given that we were camping and hiking in the mountains! The quality, variety, and sheer amount of food exceeded all our expectations. As a particularly thoughtful touch, Sebastian even prepared a birthday and honeymoon cake for our group to celebrate, which made the experience feel extra special. Overall, the trek exceeded all our expectations. The guides, porters, and chefs all played such an important role in making it an unforgettable experience, and we are incredibly grateful to the entire Alpaca Expeditions team. We would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering the Inca Trail!
The 4 day 3 night INCA trail experience exceeded my expectations. The cuisine provided by Chef Wilber was out of this world! I really don’t know how he managed such an incredible variety of delicious food at a camp site. He even made a surprise birthday cake! I can’t say enough about guides Sam and Edwin. Sam was informative and the love for his heritage was evident. Also, his laugh was contagious. He was especially encouraging to my friend as we walked near the back of the pack. Edwin was the sweetest, he followed our friend up Waynapicchu as the rest of us trekked to the summit. He snapped SO many photos during the hike and was always smiling. He gave an amazing demonstration on how the Incas made rope for bridges. Both guides made the hike very memorable. The porters were outstanding and are very strong. Añay, waykis!
Challenging but incredibly rewarding! As a solo traveller, I felt safe and supported throughout. I met an amazing group of people who quickly became like family, creating meaningful connections and unforgettable memories. Our guide, Bernie, provided an exceptional cultural experience with extensive knowledge of Peruvian, Inca and pre-Inca history. The porters were amazing, and our chef served exceptional meals at camp after long days on the trail. An unforgettable experience filled with culture, connection and achievement. Highly recommend! !

Bely our chef made the most incredible meals 3 times a day! The food was unbelievable and it was so impressive cooking that quality with so little equipment whilst camping. Joyce and Darwin made my 2-day Inca Trail unforgettable
I did the 2-day Inca Trail solo with Alpaca Expeditions, and my guide Joyce was a huge part of what made it such an incredible experience. He was super kind from the moment we met, and his knowledge of Inca history, the ruins, and the landscape brought every part of the trail to life. I learned so much more than I ever could have on my own. Joyce was also wonderfully encouraging. Whenever the climb got tough, he was there with a positive word to keep me going, and his great sense of humor had me laughing the whole way. Traveling solo, I really appreciated that he always put my safety first, checking in on me and making sure I felt confident and cared for the entire time. A big thank you as well to my porter, Darwin, who worked so hard behind the scenes. His help and support made the trek so much easier and let me fully enjoy every moment on the trail. If you're booking with Alpaca Expeditions, I can't recommend Joyce and Darwin enough. Thank you both for making my journey to Machu Picchu so special!
Memorable trip with Javier, Ever and Alpaca
We had very memorable and pleasant trip, big kudos/thanks to our guides Javier and Ever. They took time to explain all the history, philosophy and ways of Inca. One of us needed help with the hike, they very patiently helped, motivated, carried luggage and went extra miles. They helped us with each steps including small details like train stations pick and drop, restaurants etc. Great experience and we strongly recommend Alpaca
Incredible Experience!!
This was truly one of the most incredible experiences my husband and I could have imagined! The tour was not only so well organized, but our guides provided us with such valuable local knowledge and history! Of course the trail, views and Machu Picchu were beautiful, but having such an amazing crew and group to share the experience with really was the icing on the cake.
