An unforgettable experience with an incredible team! We recently completed the 4-day Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions, and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional and genuinely exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Elisban and Yanelit, were fantastic. Elisban was a wonderful leader who showed genuine care for every member of our group. His knowledge went far beyond simply guiding us along the trail. He shared so much about Inca history, the incredible nature surrounding us, and Andean culture, which made the experience so much more meaningful. Yanelit was equally wonderful, constantly checking in on us, encouraging us and making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. The chefs were absolutely incredible. The food throughout the trek was far beyond what we expected, especially considering the conditions they were working in. As we were on our honeymoon, they even surprised us with a honeymoon cake, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. It really showed how much the team cared about making our experience special. And of course, the porters deserve an enormous amount of praise. Watching the work they put in throughout the trek was genuinely inspiring. They were an incredibly hardworking and important part of making the entire experience possible, and we have so much respect for them. We also loved that Alpaca Expeditions is a local company, allowing us to support local people and communities rather than booking with a foreign-based company. That was important to us and made us even happier with our choice. To the entire Alpaca Expeditions team, thank you for making our Inca Trail experience truly memorable. We just completed the 4-day / 3-night Inca Trail hike with Alpaca Expeditions, and the entire experience was absolute magic from start to finish. Our group of 13 formed an incredible bond along the way—the trek was a perfect mix of challenging physical effort, rich conversations, breathtaking mountain scenery, and deep dives into Inca history as we toured all the ancient sites along the trail. A massive thank you to our guides, Javier and David. Their knowledge, encouragement, and passion for sharing Inca culture made every step of the journey meaningful and engaging. They kept our group motivated, safe, and organized throughout the entire trek. And the food! Our chef, Julian, blew us away with what he was able to prepare in the middle of the mountains. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and surprisingly gourmet—Alpaca Expeditions truly thought of every single detail so we could just focus on the experience. Finally, the green machine—the porters—are nothing short of unreal. The sheer amount of gear and supplies they carry on their backs, all while literally running past us on the trail to set up our next camp, is mind-blowing. Luz Marina was our guide on the Inca Trail today, and she was absolutely AMAZING! Her knowledge of nature, the history of the Incas, and the trail itself was extraordinary. What I especially loved was the way she shared the Quechua and Inca perspectives, bringing the ancient wisdom, traditions, and spiritual connection to the land alive for us. She pointed out so many beautiful flowers and plants along the way, helping us appreciate the incredible beauty surrounding us. And perhaps most importantly, she has such a wonderful spirit! Even during the toughest parts of the hike, she kept our group upbeat, encouraged, and smiling. Luz Marina is so much more than a hiking guide. She makes the journey a truly memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone hiking the Inca Trail. She is simply THE BEST!

Luz was our guide on the Inca trail from KM 104 through the sun gate. She was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly knowledgeable and perceptive, pointing things out in real time and explaining the deep meaning and history of the things we were seeing. I could not recommend her enough.

It has been an impressive expedition. The trek itself was breathtaking—both in the views and the intensity of the hike. The experience was enriched by the support from Romerio, our guide, who was highly knowledgeable about the history and could express it effectively. Furthermore, I would be remiss not to mention the excellent food provided on all days by Mijael, the chef. The whole arrangement right from the get-go was immaculately executed.
