Salkantay Trek 5D/4N
El trekking Salkantay es una de las rutas alternas más populares y desafiantes para llegar a Machu Picchu. Con una duración de 5 días, este sendero te llevará a través de paisajes diversos y sorprendentes, desde las tierras altas andinas hasta la selva tropical.
El trekking comienza en nuestras glass cabañas , desde donde ascenderás a través de paisajes deslumbrantes hasta llegar al paso de Salkantay, a más de 4,600 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Desde allí, el descenso te llevará por valles verdes y bosques nublados, donde disfrutras de nuestro hobbit house el cual ofrece vistas espectaculares del Nevado Salkantay, uno de los picos más altos de la región. La ruta continúa hacia la selva, pasando por pequeños pueblos andinos, hasta llegar finalmente a Aguas Calientes, la base para la visita a Machu Picchu.
Amazing experience on the Salkantey Trek!
The trip was very physically demanding, but Fernando was a great guide who was able to navigate all our challenges with a calm and easygoing manner. He was incredibly flexible with our schedules and always motivated us to keep pushing on the trail. We would recommend Fernando to any person who wants to have an amazing experience on the Salkantey trek. The food options were also amazing and our chef Michael did a great job!

It’s hard to put into words just how incredible my experience with Alpaca Expeditions was. The Salkantay Trek had been on my bucket list for a long time, and this team made it even better than I imagined.
A huge thank you to our guides, Cesar and Carlos. They were the heart of the experience. They were knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and always made sure everyone in the group felt safe, supported, and included. Their passion for Peru, its history, and its culture made every day so much more meaningful, and they somehow kept our spirits high even on the toughest climbs.
The chefs absolutely blew me away. I still can’t believe the meals they prepared in the middle of the Andes—they were some of the best food I had during my entire trip to Peru. Every morning and evening felt like something to look forward to. The horsemen and the rest of the crew worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, yet they were always smiling and welcoming us at each campsite.
The landscapes were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Every day brought something new, from towering snow-capped peaks and turquoise lakes to lush cloud forests before finally reaching Machu Picchu. It challenged me physically, but every step was worth it.
What I’ll remember most, though, is the people. By the end of the trek, it felt like we weren’t just customers—we were part of a family. Thank you again to Cesar, Carlos, and the entire Alpaca Expeditions team for giving me an experience I’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about doing the Salkantay Trek, don’t hesitate to book with them—you won’t regret it!
Amazing Experience!
Amazing experience. Guides were experienced, knowledgeable and made the experience one to remember. Accommodation and food was amazing and comfortably given this was during a trek. The hotel on the last night had the most amazing shower and bed. I felt safe throughout and I would highly recommend this tour company.

This trek was an absolutely amazing experience! Our guides, Ceasar and Carlos, went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and happy. The trek was very well organized and included a variety of beautiful landscapes and views. Accommodations and food were wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this trek to anyone looking to explore the Andean mountains and see Macchu Picchu!
