Incredible tour!!
I had such an incredible time on this tour!! Lucio and Vanessa were the best guides ever. They made sure to consistently check in with everyone in the group on the hike. They were so knowledge about the history and current state of the ruins. I learned so much from this experience
Perfect Day
We had a wonderful day exploring Cusco and the surrounding ruins. Our guide, Rinaldo, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the history though art and the ruins around us. Plus Rinaldo was an excellent photographer and made sure we got all the best photos. Our driver Michael was always on time and the car was clean and comfortable.
The Inca Trail Experience We’ll Never Forget
We had a wonderful experience with Alpaca Expeditions on the 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The hike was great, the views were absolutely spectacular, and the food they provided along the trail was honestly out of this world. We were amazed at the quality of the meals they were able to prepare for us along the way!
Everything was extremely well organized from beginning to end. Our guide was fantastic, always attentive and making sure we were comfortable and, most importantly, that we really understood the history and significance of everything we were seeing. He made the entire experience so much more meaningful.
Walking through the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu was unforgettable, but one of the best and most unexpected parts of the experience was the people we shared it with. We had such a great group and came away with new friends, which made the trip even more special.
Beautiful scenery, incredible food, a great guide, wonderful organization, and memories we will never forget. We would absolutely recommend Alpaca Expeditions!
The tale of the Super Hikers
Hiking in Peru for the first time was incredible! Our guides, Ivan and Carlos were amazing with how supportive and encouraging they were to every person in our group. They were very informative and conversational throughout, aiding in the experience of soaking up the views and understanding the history and geography of the hike. I strongly recommend these wonderful people to be your next guides on the hikes offered by Alpaca Expeditions. The chefs and porters were extremely efficient with handling meal and gear prep at our campsites. The food was prepared with abundance and the taste was excellent.
Overall the experience was what I can call transforming. Going into the trip, not knowing how I would feel, it showed that I should have had more preparation. Late in the day on a portion that took us over 14,000 ft, I was feeling increasingly tired and frustrated. Carlos offered to carry my pack along with his own, allowing me to more easily continue for the last sections of the trail. This gesture will remain one of the reasons I feel that Carlos and Ivan both are guides made of a different and better quality than many others out there.
The views were endlessly stunning, if only seeing the vast unobstructed space of the highlands. The striking peaks that hovered over the horizon were the icing on the cake.
The amount of organization and planning that go into these multi-day hikes, takes a small army of people. This team, managed by Ivan and Carlos had their work cut out for them with a recent and sudden need to rearrange the dates and routes to accommodate their group. From our side, it appears they had everything under control. I thank them for the trip. I thank them for the amazing memories they have left me.
I will return to Peru, and seek out this Mucho Awesome pair of Super Hikers to be our guides on some new adventures.
Unforgettable experience!
Absolutely amazing! The hike was inspiring and the views were breathtaking, but considering where we were, everyone can get that experience. It was the crew that really made the difference in the experience.
Ivan truly cared about our experience, his knowledge and passion was inspirational and honestly second to none. “Mucho awesome!”
Carlos was fantastic, he was there for us every step of the way and worked hard to make sure we had an experience we would never forget!
The Chefs, wow! Every meal was absolutely delicious. I can’t even comprehend how they prepared such incredible meals out there!
