Inca Trail Clean Up Camping

Alpaca Expeditions amazing realize inca trail clean up campaigns, Green Machine Green Machine, the super men who make up our team of guides, cooks and porters along the Inka Trail and alternative treks that we offer, took a few days last month to give a bit back to our beautiful Andean mountains. We feel that it is so important to respect our beautiful planet and honor and take care of her. We feel very strongly that our trekkers have come a long way to do these amazing treks and they deserve to see a pristine environment, free from the evidence of other, less conscientious trekkers that have preceded them.

We left Cusco at daybreak on February 8th, about 6AM, and 12-15 of our porters and cooks took a day along the Lares to Machu Picchu trail to collect trash and litter. They also collected debris from the shores of the lakes. We ended up with 10 huge sacks of rubbish!
