Perfect

Mr. Javier is the best tour guide. He organized the tour properly and helped me with the schedule. Most importantly, he has a lot of knowledge about Machu Picchu, knowing everything and being able to explain the history. Highly recommended

Exceptional experience

We did a Cusco city tour and Sacred Valley day tour with our guide Walter from Alpaca Expeditions, and our experience was outstanding. Everything was well organized, seamless, and a memorable experience. Walter is very well-versed in historical details, patient, and easygoing. And to top it all, he is an amazing photographer. Highly recommended!

Feels like family

My experience with Alpaca Expeditions was excellent. Our tour guide Fernando did a wonderful job tailoring the experience to the needs of our small group. Fernando is incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about the land, culture and history. He even offered to carry my pack when my knees were killing me. I’m pescatarian and there were a lot of vegetarian options (even a vegetarian version of the main dish, often a mushroom dish). We were fed very well by Marcelino and Crisostomo, and were deeply moved and impressed by the effort and care put into every day and meal of the trek.

Holy moly this trek was amazing, 100% recommend (18 y.o. NB)

The overall experience was amazing! The trail was--of course--extremely difficult, but the staff provided much motivation and encouragement and I was able to finish the trek. The food was just utterly amazing (they somehow baked a cake which tasted fantastic?? I don't have a clue how they pulled that off. I loved the fried rainbow trout served for the first day's lunch, and the rest of the food might've even been better than the restaurants in Cusco), Roro (our main guide's nickname) was an amazing guide and taught history and interesting facts about landmarks on our route, all the staff members were so friendly and the guides always made sure you weren't left behind (I once got a bloody nose in the middle of a trail and Roro stayed with me to get it all sorted), the camp felt much cleaner than I first thought it would be, the rest of the hikers were such a joy to be with and we felt like a team that achieved an incredible goal by the end of the hike, the trail was beautiful with incredible views that you'll see nowhere else, and, ugh, there's so much to say! It was just a very, very incredible journey that I am so grateful I could be a part of. I'm only 18 and not the most fit, but I felt like the trail wasn't too hard (endurance is the most important thing. Well, the trail *is*, of course, challenging, but the food we were fed and the encouragement and support given by the guides will greatly help you). I do feel like I slightly skimped out on training and the morning of the second day (I did not sleep well the first night) the hike ahead did feel extremely intimidating, but once I made it up the first mountain I felt 150% certain I would make the rest of the hike. All I really did to prepare was walk/run on a treadmill maybe 5 hours per week, spent a week-ish in Cusco to make sure I acclimated to the thinner atmosphere (and hydrated plenty), brought plenty of electrolyte packets for water for the hike (this is really important!!), and I did fine! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this trail, and if you choose to hike it, go with Alpaca Expeditions. It's a life-changing experience that you'll never forget and I loved it so so much, and I'm not really a hiker!

Amazing Classic Inca Trail (4D/3N) experience!

We can now check one bucket list item off! This entire amazing journey was as impressive and rewarding as the Machu Picchu we reached thru the Sun Gate at the end. We made new friends from South Africa and the USA which we will never forget. Our incredible guides, Raùl and Roger provided us with historical, cultural and ancestral knowledge along the way and were kind enough to share with us their obvious love and respect for the Pachamama. The days are long and they start early but Gregorio’s phenomenal cooking kept us full of energy and always looking forward for the next treat. Last but not least, the group of porters that works behind the scene to carry all the heavy gear and get the campsites ready for us deserve our lasting gratitude for an incredibly hard job accomplished with a smile. They only regret you can have after this trip is not having done it before!!

We had a wonderful time with Juan visiting the Inca sites in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Juan is very knowledgeable about the history and prehistory of the Inca civilization. He also knew all the best spots for pictures! We really appreciated his expertise.

In general: What an experience! Great guides, chefs, and porters. Alpaca Expeditions is a green company that pays close attention to their carbon footprint, sources their food locally, and has various programs that give back to their community. Bonus: they have a portable toilet that is well maintained and stocked with TP at all times. My personal experience: This is long, but hopefully helpful if you have any reservations about whether you can accomplish this trek! I arrived in Cuzco to acclimate 3 days early…however, I unfortunately succumbed to the altitude on day one of the actual hike and got worse on day 2 and 3. It is not lost on me that I was ONLY able to complete the trek because of the Alpaca team. The chef team, led by Cecilio, were very accommodating to my needs and prepared different teas to try to help me. Our groups guides, Alvin and Yojhan, were beyond encouraging and made sure I was safe the whole time. One of them was always with me even though I took twice as long as the rest of the group. >_< I can’t stress enough how important it is to have the right team supporting you in any situation. Their company’s back bone is stellar, but their actions during the hike showed me their heart is unbeatable.

I recently completed the 4-day Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions alongside my teenage daughters, and it exceeded every expectation. The weather was perfect all four days, which made the stunning views even better. Our guides, Yojhan and Alvin, were true experts, sharing deep insights into Incan history, the wildlife, and the flora and fauna of the area. They were incredibly patient and answered every question we had about Peru and more. From the start, they encouraged us to keep smiles on our faces and told us we’d become a "super family" by the end—and that is exactly what happened. The "super porters" worked tirelessly, and our chef Cecilio and his assistant cooked incredible meals for us along the way. Everything went perfectly to plan, and we finished the expedition with celebratory toasts and a shared album for photos with our new friends. I cannot recommend this team highly enough!

Muy buena experiencia con Alvin y Yojhan haciendo el camino Inka clásico. La comida que nos hizo Cecilio y Angelito estaba impresionante. Repetiría seguro!

The 4 day Inca trip was the best trip i have had in my lifetime. Beyond the scenic scenery everything has been well planned through. Alvin and Yohan were there for any possible inquries and shared a lot of nice insights along the inca trail. The food was better than any regular meal you can grab in town and was served three times a day by the amazing chef Cecilo and his crew. If you don’t do this trip you miss out.
