TOUR DETAILS
Lima Afternoon Tour
Your local tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 2:00 pm and will double-check with you on what belongings you will need for this tour. Then it is around a 30m drive downtown where you will start your walking tour. We will visit the Main Plaza of Lima, which is nicely surrounded by impressive buildings, palaces, a castle, and the most important being the President’s house or Palacio de Gobierno of Peru. After a nice explanation from your guide and a chance to take lots of pictures, you will continue walking to the famous Saint Francisco Monastery and the impressive underground Catacombs.
Other important places to see is the De la Union Pathway, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall of Lima, the Cathedral, and San Martin Square, a place where normally people start important group meeting or protests.
The Historic center is a World Heritage Site protected by Unesco. All of these important and beautiful Colonial buildings are looked after. Lima is one of the oldest Capital cities in South America founded by Spaniards in 1535 and became the City of Kings.
You will enjoy every single place, with their unique characteristic. Your guide will stop often so you can take lots of great pictures and give a deep explanation of these historic places you will visit. Once your tour is over you will be driven back to your hotel.
After a nice walking tour, you will visit the “Parque de la Reserva” to see the famous Magic Water circuit. This provides a fun and family-friendly option. They’re best to see at night when the lights and laser effects are visible. Each of the fountains has a different theme, and some are interactive (you’ll get wet), making them a big hit with kids. The Maze of the Dream (Laberinto del Ensueño) is a major highlight of the Magic Water Circuit and challenges visitors to find their way to an inner circle through a maze made from vertical walls of water. After dark, the Fantasia Fountain (Fuente de la Fantasía) entertains with a choreographed show

Our guides are all graduates of university studying tourism, history and english. Our chefs are trained every February by a professional cooking team learning new meals, adding varieties of entrees for all types of eating. And all our porters are from HUARQUI, HUACAHUASI, PATACANCHA, QUISWARANI, CANCHACANCHA, QUEYUPAY, UMACHURCO and CCACCACCOLLO villages, very often working this job on top of maining their farms back at home. Most of our team has been with us for years, as we have the most loyal, hard working, happy employees in Cusco.
