In the pursuit to stand out from the rest, Alpaca Expeditions has obtained four ISOs plus our carbon footprint certificate to date. These achievements result from our efforts to implement the internationally-recognized integrated management system. They also represent our commitment to all of our clients and staff of operating sustainability and responsibility in every way possible.
Everyone on the Alpaca Team is from Cusco region, living the traditions and history they share with you while on one of our tours. Our guides are all graduates of university studying tourism, history and english. Our chefs are trained every February by a professional cooking team learning new meals, adding varieties of entrees for all types of eating. And all our porters are from HUARQUI, HUACAHUASI, PATACANCHA, QUISWARANI, CANCHACANCHA, QUEYUPAY, UMACHURCO and CCACCACCOLLO villages, very often working this job on top of maining their farms back at home. Most of our team has been with us for years, as we have the most loyal, hard working, happy employees in Cusco. We know how lucky we are to have the best team trekking and you will immediately fall in love with all the men and women who call Alpaca Expeditions their home.

Just returned from an incredible experience doing the 4D/3N Ica Trail hike with Alpaca. The experience was wonderful from start to finish, starting with the booking process was smooth and easy. Our guides Romario, Ever and Reynaldo were amazing. Romário’s knowledge about and passion for history and archaeology constantly showed, and I learned so much from him. He also kept us on time and organized which is critical on a trip like this. Ever was hilarious, always providing levity. And Reynaldo was such a kind and caring soul who hung back and took care of members of our group who were struggling a bit with the altitude. Just such a nice group of guides. And I can’t say enough good things about the porters and our head chef Sebastian. The porters worked so incredibly hard, forging ahead and making sure everything was set up for us when we arrived at camp. We also had fun dancing with them on the final evening. And chef Sebastian and his team made incredible food - I was in awe that he was able to make that level of food at a campsite. We were well fed and well nourished for each day’s hiking. And I really appreciated the beautiful cake that chef made (at the campsite - amazing!) to celebrate my birthday, the birthday of another hiker and the honeymoon of a couple in our group. Overall a wonderful experience and I’d definitely recommend Alpaca Expeditions!
We had a wonderful and very well two day Inka Trail. Our guide José was the best. From explaining the flora in the jungle, to taking care of us during the walk and explaining the history of Machu Picchu and the Inkas and taking care of all our needs. Also, besides being a superb guide he is also a great photographer making sure to record all our memories and he is simply overall a great guy. Much gracias por todo!
We did the 2 day hike with Alpaca Expeditions. They were really well organised from start to finish with prompt responses to any questions beforehand. The hike was fantastic and our guide, Abel, was excellent. He and Marlene looked after us really well, and the chef and porters were great too. I highly recommend this company.
Completed the 4 day/3 night Inca Trail. An unforgettable experience. Our guides, Elisban and Yanelit, were so supportive and knowledgeable. Their passion for the Andes and their people was as inspirational to me as Machu Pichu. Highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions!
This trek was amazing. Got to see some incredible views and stunning ruins. Day 1 was fairly easy. Day 2 was a very challenging day. Day 3 was pretty easy and day 4 was super easy with. Couple short hard parts. It’s all worth it once you reach the final destination. The porters worked super hard for us and the chef over shot my expectations on the food served. Recommend this hike to everyone! We had Alexander and Yefferson as guides and there went above and beyond to make our trip go smoothly. They were entertaining, funny and very informative! The only parts that I would change is bigger sleeping bags and maybe a little bigger mattresses. Also possibly having an English tour and Spanish tour. Some parts of the trip were a tad longer having to go thru everything in both languages. But it wasn’t to bad regardless. Will be recommending this trip to anyone I know coming to Peru! Thanks for the great memories Alpaca Expeditions!
Joyce and Darwin made my 2-day Inca Trail unforgettable
I did the 2-day Inca Trail solo with Alpaca Expeditions, and my guide Joyce was a huge part of what made it such an incredible experience. He was super kind from the moment we met, and his knowledge of Inca history, the ruins, and the landscape brought every part of the trail to life. I learned so much more than I ever could have on my own. Joyce was also wonderfully encouraging. Whenever the climb got tough, he was there with a positive word to keep me going, and his great sense of humor had me laughing the whole way. Traveling solo, I really appreciated that he always put my safety first, checking in on me and making sure I felt confident and cared for the entire time. A big thank you as well to my porter, Darwin, who worked so hard behind the scenes. His help and support made the trek so much easier and let me fully enjoy every moment on the trail. If you're booking with Alpaca Expeditions, I can't recommend Joyce and Darwin enough. Thank you both for making my journey to Machu Picchu so special!
Memorable trip with Javier, Ever and Alpaca
We had very memorable and pleasant trip, big kudos/thanks to our guides Javier and Ever. They took time to explain all the history, philosophy and ways of Inca. One of us needed help with the hike, they very patiently helped, motivated, carried luggage and went extra miles. They helped us with each steps including small details like train stations pick and drop, restaurants etc. Great experience and we strongly recommend Alpaca
Incredible Experience!!
This was truly one of the most incredible experiences my husband and I could have imagined! The tour was not only so well organized, but our guides provided us with such valuable local knowledge and history! Of course the trail, views and Machu Picchu were beautiful, but having such an amazing crew and group to share the experience with really was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much to Flecher, Yadira, Sergio, all of our porters and additional crew- we could not have asked for a better experience💚

Edward & Melinton were excellent guides and made the trip super smooth and enjoyable! Definitely recommend for anyone going to Peru for the first time and wanting to streamline any permitting. Meals were great, views were amazing, people were awesome.

Die Tour hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Hiking Teil ist machbar aber anstrengend. Jeder konnte seine Pace laufen. Top organisiert. Besonders zu erwähnen ist unser Tour Guide Victor. Total freundlich und hilfsbereit und mit extrem umfangreichen Wissen ausgestattet. Danke Victor. Absolut empfehlenswert.
