Salkantay Trek Features Exclusive Accommodations
Hiking and traveling enthusiasts often dream of completing the Salkantay Trek, following the steps of the explorer who rediscovered Machu Picchu, and exploring Machu Picchu for themselves. This adventure, when taken with Alpaca Expeditions, also includes unique accommodations that set our tours apart.
Exceptional Accommodations on the Salkantay Trek
Taking part in our Super Salkantay Trek (5D/5N) offers our visitors exclusive accommodations. Travel without worries about overcrowding or substandard facilities. All campsites are private, ensuring that hikers have enough privacy to relax before the next day’s trek.
Your first afternoon on your Salkantay Trek is spent meeting the trekking team. Next, travelers can look forward to spending night one in Glass Cabañas in Soraypampa. Situated 3,800 meters above sea level, your view includes a glorious sunset over the glacial peaks.
Each day includes hiking through glorious scenery and the reward of fresh, deliciously prepared food by the best chefs in the mountains. Enjoy custom built campsites featuring gardens, pools and views of the mountain ranges. Hikers spend the night in a cozy “Hobbit House” near the river. Plus, unwind after an active day and recharge your body, mind and soul by relaxing in the pool or hot Jacuzzi.
Enjoy Spectacular Scenery on the Salkantay Trek
Throughout the journey, hikers walk the same paths as the ancient Inca while enjoying the solitude and wildlife of the mountainside. Savor diverse scenery featuring picturesque views of the glacial mountain, Mount Salkantay, and wildlife such as spectacled bears, chinchillas, and deer.
The Salkantay Trek requires hikers to be in moderate-to-better physical condition since parts of the hike are strenuous with rough terrain. Hikers cover 62 km over five days, almost double the Inca trail. Rising to 15,000 feet at some points, here hikers enjoy a bird’s eye view of the landscapes below.
