The tour guide will pick you up at 8:30 am from your hotel. We suggest booking your hotel in Miraflores, making the drive about 50m drive. Traffic is common in Lima, so booking there will save time. You will pass through historic districts of Lima, and your guide will share with you historic faqs about each one. Once you arrive in Pachacamac, you will start your guided tour. Your guide will take you on a walking tour exploring this famous site that consists of palaces, pyramids, temples such a temple of the sun, Temple of Pachacamac, Acllawasi which means palace of the Virgins, as the whole area was considered holy.
These Precolumbian ruins are located in the Lurin Valley, which is South of Lima. This area has great weather and can be visited at any time of the year.
On this tour, we will have the chance to visit one of the better districts of Lima, Barranco. Located here is “ El Puente de Los Suspiros” (sighs Bridge), El Salto del Fraile (Friar’s Cliff), and Los Pantanos de Villa ( Lima’s ecological reserve). You will enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean.
The tour lasts about 3 and a half hours and finishes with the transfer back to your hotel in Lima. Your Tour guide will give you the option to enjoy your lunch as there are many good restaurants around Miraflores.
Then after about a30-minute drive downtown, you will start a walking tour. You will visit the Main Plaza of Lima, which is a nicely surrounded by impressive buildings like Palaces, castle, with the most important being the President house or Palacio de Gobierno of Peru and the Lima’s mayor house. After some historic faqs from your guide and time for taking pictures, you will continue walking to the famous Saint Francisco Monastery and underground Catacombs.
Other important places to see is the De la Union Pathway, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall of Lima, the Cathedral, and San Martin Square, a place where normally people start important group meeting or protests.
The Historic center is a World Heritage Site protected by Unesco. All of these important and beautiful Colonial buildings are looked after. Lima is one of the oldest Capital cities in South America founded by Spaniards in 1535 and became the City of Kings.
You will enjoy every single place, with their unique characteristic. Your guide will stop often so you can take lots of great pictures and give a deep explanation of these historic places you will visit. Once your tour is over you will be driven back to your hotel.
